An intercooler removes heat from the compressed charge air before it reaches the engine. Cooler air is denser and holds intake temperatures steadier through repeated hard runs. Core volume sets how much heat the cooler can absorb, while flow area and end-tank shape decide how much pressure is lost across it. Wagner Tuning lists a 600 x 395 x 135 mm (stepped) core with 28.9 liters (+250% vs. the factory 8.3 liters) and a flow area of 2,370 cm² (+127% vs. OEM 1,043 cm²). These are Wagner's own comparisons with the factory intercooler; they describe cooling capacity and are not a power figure. The core is stepped, so volume is not a simple width x height x depth product.
