If you've graduated beyond beginner track pads and you're finding yourself chewing through braking zones faster than your current setup can handle, the Carbotech XP10 is probably where you end up.
The XP10 has become Carbotech's most popular track compound for a reason. It delivers a serious jump in initial bite compared to the XP8 while maintaining the smooth modulation and predictable release characteristics that make Carbotech pads so easy to drive at the limit.
Translation? More confidence. More consistency. Less wondering whether your brakes are going to show up for Session 4 after you've spent all morning abusing them.
Designed specifically for track and competition use, the XP10 offers exceptional fade resistance (up to 1,475°F), works extremely well with modern BMW ABS systems, and remains surprisingly rotor-friendly despite its aggressive nature. That's a rare combination in the track pad world, where many compounds trade stopping power for rotor destruction.
Whether you're an advanced HPDE driver, instructor, time trial competitor, or just someone who enjoys making expensive cars behind you very uncomfortable under braking, the XP10 is one of the safest bets in the game.

Before You Buy
The XP10 is a race pad. Not a "spirited street pad." Not a "weekend canyon pad." A race pad.
That means you should expect increased dust, noise, and the occasional soundtrack that sounds like you're dragging a shopping cart through a haunted house parking lot.
Carbotech also deletes the factory pad sensor slot on competition compounds, so you'll need to monitor pad wear manually and secure the factory sensor out of the way.
If your BMW spends more time at Starbucks than at pit lane, this probably isn't your pad.
ORT's Take
The XP10 sits in the sweet spot of the Carbotech lineup. The XP8 is excellent for newer drivers, but once pace increases, many drivers start wanting more bite and more confidence deeper into the braking zone. The XP10 delivers exactly that without becoming difficult to manage.
For advanced HPDE drivers, instructors, and most track-focused BMW owners, this is the compound we recommend most often. It's fast, predictable, rotor-friendly, and boringly reliable—which is exactly what you want from a brake pad when you're entering Turn 1 at triple-digit speeds.
