The S58 makes real power.
The stock exhaust sounds like it’s asking permission.
This fixes that.
The MAD valved axle back gives the car the volume and edge BMW should’ve delivered from day one. It keeps factory valve control, retains OEM integration, and actually lets the engine sound like it means something.
Sound
Valves closed, it’s deeper and more assertive than stock without being obnoxious.
Valves open, it’s aggressive, sharp, and properly loud. Not fake loud. Not artificial. Real exhaust tone.
You keep full control through your factory drive modes. No extra modules. No weird workarounds. It behaves exactly like OEM, just with backbone.
Flow & Performance
Tubing increases to 76mm over the factory 70mm. Less restriction, cleaner exit, better overall flow.
This is not a dyno queen mod. Expect modest gains in the +5 hp and +5 lb-ft range. What you will notice immediately is response and sound.
The car feels less muted. Because it is.
Construction
• 100% T304 stainless steel
• Fully TIG welded
• Brush finish
• Roughly 7 pounds lighter than stock
Factory axle back sits around 44 pounds. This comes in around 37.
Tips:
• 4-inch silver
• 4.5-inch black or carbon
They sit correctly in the factory cutouts. No awkward overhang. No cheap look.
Fitment & Installation
• Connects to factory midpipe, cutting required
• Direct fit with MAD midpipes, no cutting required
• Extended valve harness included
• All mounting hardware included
Now Let’s Be Honest
An axle back by itself is completely manageable on a daily driven car.
A resonated midpipe by itself is also manageable.
Stack both together and things get loud quickly, especially with downpipes in the mix.
If this car sees real everyday use, think about your full exhaust stack before going all in. If it’s a weekend toy and you want maximum presence, then send it.
We’ll help you choose the right combination instead of just selling you parts.
This belongs in a proper Weekend Warrior build.
Sound is part of the experience.
Just make sure you build it intentionally.
