Why We Like EBC Redstuff
If your priorities are low brake dust without sacrificing braking performance, EBC Redstuff is one of our favorite street pads.
The biggest advantage is cleanliness. Redstuff produces dramatically less brake dust than most factory or semi-metallic pads, and the dust it does create is much lighter in color and far easier to wash off your wheels.
Performance is equally impressive. Unlike many ceramic compounds that feel numb when cold, Redstuff delivers strong initial bite from the first stop and continues to improve as temperatures increase. Whether you're commuting, carving back roads, or making repeated spirited stops, the pedal remains confident and consistent.
The current ceramic-enhanced Redstuff compound is a significant improvement over the original Redstuff formulation. It offers:
- Up to 60–90% less brake dust
- Strong cold bite with excellent street manners

Because Redstuff uses a durable, hard-wearing compound, expect a longer bedding-in period than softer pads. Full performance may take several hundred miles—and in some cases up to 1,000 miles—as the pad fully conforms to the rotor surface. Patience during this process is rewarded with excellent longevity and consistent braking.
Redstuff also features EBC's Brake-In surface coating to help condition the rotor and speed up the initial bedding process. Most Redstuff applications are ECE R90 approved, meeting stringent European brake performance and safety standards.
